Agreement to promote entrepreneurship and free competition
On July 27th, 2011, the Chilean National Institute of Intellectual Property (INAPI) and the National Economic Prosecutor (FNE) have signed a cooperation agreement in order to work together in IP-related issues and to promote free competition.
Under adherence of the legal rules of discretion and confidentiality, both institutions committed themselves to exchange relevant information about investigations or proceedings, such as the training and implementation of promotion strategies.
Furthermore, the convention establishes the elaboration of research papers, ought not only to examine the correlation between Intellectual Property and free competition, but also to analyze the bonds between entrepreneurship, innovation and growth in Chile.
The Chilean community, especially entrepreneurs, researchers and teachers will highly benefit of this commitment by the way of encouraging innovation and free market competition. Last but not least, the agreement should also contribute to achieve a better use of both institutional systems.
