Cooperation initiated with Germany regarding IP matters
The last World Intellectual Property Organization General Assembly (WIPO), held from 5 to 14, October in Geneva, was focused on exchange experiences and global discussions in the field of intellectual property matters.
For the president of the Brazilian Trademark Office, this event offered an opportunity to learn about the best ways to improve and speed up the services with other offices. During the conference, a bilateral memorandum of understanding between Brazil and Germany regarding cooperation on Industrial Property was signed.
The memorandum grew out of the Brazilian trademark office participation in the XXXIII Brazil-Germany Economic Meeting in Joinville, in September. This event focused on the business opportunities between the two countries and on issues such as innovation, biotechnology, as well as urban challenges and problem-solving. Also during the September meeting, the Brazilian Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Armando Monteiro signed a cooperation agreement with the Chamber of Commerce Brazil Germany (AHK) in order to promote diverse innovation activities.
