Draft law concerning personal data
With the objective of fulfilling international standards, Chilean Ministry of Economy drafted a bill related to personal data. The document is based on the basis of foreign legislations, such as the Madrid Resolution (“Resolución de Madrid”) and the experiences of countries that already have this kind of regulations.
This bill has some interesting points worth mentioning. For example, the fixing of the conditions and requirements for working with sensitive personal data and the creation of a set of rights for the citizens and the mechanisms to make them applicable.
This bill includes new aspects related to this matter, such as a clear regulation of the personal data market.
Citizens would have the possibility to see the complete text of this bill in a couple of weeks in the website of the Chilean Ministry of Economy.
