INTA delegation in Latin America
To strengthen cooperation with the Latin American region,an International Trademark Association (INTA) delegation, including CEO, Etienne Sanz de Acedo, and External Relations Associate for Latin America, Gabrielle Doyle, visited Argentina, Chile and Peru from August 13-20, 2015.
The delegation first met in Buenos Aires with the National Institute for Industrial Property (INPI) and with the Appellate Chamber, the National Director of Customs and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce.
After the first stop, INTA´s delegation travelled to Chile, where they met with members of the Supreme Court of Justice as well as with officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy.
Additionally, INTA hosted together with the National Institute of Industrial Property of Chile (INAPI), in Santiago de Chile, a roundtable onTrademark Examination and Hearings specifically aimed atChilean Trademark Administrators.
Finally, the delegation travelled to Lima, Peru, where the delegates signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI). The delegation also held an examiners training session with the INDECOPI.
INTA hosted membership receptions for all its members in the three Latin American locations visited by its delegation.
