New policies for domain names
On December 1st 2013, the new policies for domain names will enter into force according to what was recommended by the national council of domain names and ip numbers.
In a few days a new set of rules will be effective which modifies the regulation of Nic Chile that is applicable to all domain names that will be requested during November 2013.
Some insights about the new provisions:
-Application requests for a domain name that are in process up to November 1st 2013; and have not been paid will be eliminated. These domain names will be assigned immediately to the first applicant.
-The conflicts over domain names which, on December 1st 2013 are being processed will have to follow the old procedure.
-From December 1st 2013, the transfer procedure of a domain names .CL will no longer be available. That day, the new “change owner procedure” shall become effective; which will be mandatory for every registered holder of a domain name.
-For registrations for new domain names only one email address will be allowed for administrative contact; which will be used in the transfer procedure of domain names to the upcoming system of user accounts.
