Study explores innovation ecosystem
In May 2015, during a visit of Director General Maximiliano Santa Cruz of the Chilean PTO (INAPI), to the headquarters of the French PTO (INPI), an agreement was signed between both offices to carry out a study about the Chilean innovation ecosystem, together with the French National Institute for computer science and applied mathematics (INRIA).
The offices have collaborated on IP matters since the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2013.Directors met to discuss matters of mutual interest such as technology transfer, denominations of origin and technologic intelligence. Additionally, they exchanged experiences in order to strengthen the management of both PTOs by means of technical and professional assistance, as well as exchange of good practices.
At the end of the meeting, Santa Cruz, Yves Lapierre, Director General of INPI, and Antoinne Petit, CEO of INRIA, signed the agreement to carry out the study about innovation in Chile, aimed at fast-growing French companies willing to expand into Latin America.
