Patents Paralegal and Technical Translator
Carla joined the Patents Team at Moeller IP Advisors in 2016. Meticulous and organized, she currently manages official actions issued by all Latin American PTOs for Patents, Utility Models and Industrial Designs. She is the link between clients and patent technical advisors, providing a high quality service with a caring attitude towards our clients. Additionally, she informs the about granting of applications and happily addresses clients’ concerns about IP general matters.
At the very beginning, Carla started supervising formal examination and publication deadlines. She quickly moved on to dealing with filings of both PCT National Phases and Direct Filings in non-PCT countries. Little by little, she also got involved in the management of documents, preliminary examinations, and in the supervision of annuities. Soon Carla gained experience and a comprehensive approach of the proceedings, which was reinforced by her participation in the “Upgrade Course in Intellectual and Industrial Property” lectured by the Argentine Association of Industrial Property Agents, and the “Workshop on Patent, Industrial Design and Trademark Registration, and Information Technology Searches” carried out by the National Institute of Industrial Property.
In 2017, she was a member of Moeller’s new IP management software confirmation and training team.
Carla received her academic training at Universidad del Salvador (Argentina) where she graduated with honours as an English-Spanish Sworn Translator in 2014. Previously, in 2009, she was awarded merit scholarships and received her High School Diploma with Specialization in Economics and Organizational Management. Since then, she has never stopped studying. She continues her training and constantly updating herself in both fields. She considers an ongoing professional development necessary, a passion which she also shares. In addition to her translator work, Carla has been an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for 6 years.
Once the workday is over, Carla enjoys outdoor activities such as running and cycling on a sunny day, or a good book and a piece of chocolate on a rainy one. She is passionate about the English language and culture, and of course, she would never refuse a sweet, cozy cup of tea.
